Offerpal sponsors Inside Social Apps 2010

Justin Smith is one of foremost industry experts on social gaming and virtual goods. If you don’t know him by name, you definitely know his network of blogs including Inside Facebook, Inside Social Games, Inside Virtual Goods, AppData and more. When we heard that we was putting on his first official event for social app developers, we jumped at the chance to sponsor it.

What is Inside Social Apps 2010?

Inside Social Apps 2010 brings together today’s leading developers of social apps and games for a one-day intensive summit on the future of app and game monetization on social platforms. Talks and panels will tackle key issues and explore new opportunities facing social apps and games monetizing through virtual goods on the Facebook Platform and beyond.

How is Offerpal participating?

We are enthused about being part of the conference and support this conference by being the Platinum sponsor. In addition, we are excited to participate in this dialogue.  Our CEO, George Garrick, will be speaking at the conference along with many other industry leaders.

Where is this conference?

Mark your calenders for April 20th, 2010. The city is San Francisco. Venue to be announced soon.

Slides from the Offerpal Monetization Workshop

We’d like to give a big thanks to all of those who braved the stormy weather last night to turn out for our Social Gaming Workshop, the first in a series of workshops on improving game mechanics, viral distribution and, yes, monetization for social games and applications.

Nick Talarico kicked off the night by reprising a presentation he’d given last month at the Facebook Developers Garage in Taipei on his top ten tips for building engagement with your users and how to convert them into paying users:

Rob Carroll, a former game producer for Hive7, Zynga and LucasArts, then shared his advice for how to leverage the viral channels on the Facebook platform to organically find new users and grow your distribution:

Rob’s presentation was followed by a lively panel discussion with Mitali Pattnaik of PlayFirst, Jose Brotons of Product Madness and Sana Choudary of Traffichoney. We asked them to make their predictions for what 2010 holds in store for the social gaming industry, and there was definitely no shortage of opinions.

Thanks to all for participating! To find out when we’ll be hosting the next workshop, join our fan page on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
